The Advertisement Unit plays a key role in sustained Monrovia City Corporation through effective revenue generating advertising programs and activities, while giving residents and visitors the quality of information needed to enchace their lives through informed decision making.

Purpose of the Department

The Advertisement Unit plays a key role in sustaining Monrovia City Corporation as the second largest source of revenue generation. It is responsible for designing and implementing plans, strategies, rules and regulations as they relate to advertising within the city of Monrovia. The advertisement unit conducts surveys/researches on branding, tariffs, and prime sites selections and recommend to the Mayor actions appropriate to maximize revenue for the sustenance of the City Corporation. It serves as chief marketing unit of the Monrovia City Corporation mobilizing businesses/institutions/NGOs, etc. to promote their products/services/programs using all forms of advertisements tools (sky signs, neon sign, glow signs, hoarding board, bill board, banners, etc.).

The department is responsible for creating a strong revenue base to ensure that MCC is sustained. It is also responsible to ensure that the public has the right kinds of information, to make inform choices about the types of products/services they want to consume.

Functions of the Department

1. To develop and implement administrative policies, guidelines and procedures on advertising within the City of Monrovia;

2. To generate and maximize municipal revenue from bill boards, banners, neon signs, fliers, posters, van branding, road signs, floats, etc.;

3. To develop and maintain data base on bill boards, banners, neon signs, fliers, posters, van branding, road signs, floats, etc.
